Tania Vulcano is widely regarded as the indisputable First Lady of Circo Loco and Queen of DC10 Ibiza. She was there when it all began on those Monday mornings back in 1999 and continues to be a beacon for quality underground music having made the White Island her home. Whilst still typically playing the headline Terrace set at DC10, Tania is global representative for the brand and continent-hops every weekend to meet the persistent demand for her music. Unsurprisingly, in many ways it is Tania’s sound itself that acts as a showcase for what Circo Loco is all about… Another resident at Circo Loco for the last two seasons is Filsonik. Born and raised in the Lower East Side, he grew up on hip-hop, Latin disco, and reggae music, but was quick to embrace the house scene once his ears were turned onto the 4/4 beat. His childhood neighbors were fellow house-heads John Mateo and Eddie Matos, but his career as a producer and DJ really took off in 2006 under the guidance of veteran house DJ, Timmy Regisford. Filsonik’s signature drum programming sound, which is quintessentially Latin, rhythmic but yet low-fi, appears on many Regisford tracks of that period. In recent years he’s also become a close artistic collaborator with fellow NYC Puerto Rican artists, the Martinez Brothers, and working closely with Dennis Ferrer’s Objektivity label.
