Josh Gabriel and Dave Dresden are two independent music producers and DJs that joined forces in 2001 to create their own brand of forward-thinking trance, with an emphasis on melody and vocals. Since their formation, they have been greeted by nothing but love and success in the dance music community.
Gabriel & Dresden’s rise to fame started around 2004, when they released their first compilation, Bloom. The LP featured a plethora of cross-genre artists, from Andain to, Canadian pop superstar Sarah McLachlan to Lili Haydn, to Israeli deep house prodigy Guy Gerber. Soon after, they released a stellar remix of Above & Beyond’s “No One On Earth”, and at the end of the year, Armin Van Buuren named it the #1 track of 2004 on his A State of Trance radio show.
In 2005 Gabriel & Dresden founded Organized Nature, a label for releasing their own material. A year later, the duo released their self-titled album of original cuts to critical acclaim, with “Tracking Treasure Down” and “Dangerous Power” both topping the Billboard Hot Dance Club charts. The 2007 Winter Music Conference International Dance Music Awards named “Dangerous Power” the “Best Alternative/Dance Single” of the year. After a three year hiatus, Gabriel & Dresden reunited at the Winter Music Conference Miami in 2011 as the special guests for the Anjunabeats Ice Palace party.
Since the duo’s reunion, Gabriel & Dresden have been taking the scene by storm. They’ve hit Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Creamfields Australia, Nocturnal Wonderland and Electric Daisy Carnival, all within the past four years, with no signs of slowing down. Gabriel & Dresden are currently on an all-American ‘Classics Only’ tour, and we cannot wait to host them on our dance floor this weekend! Gabriel & Dresden play open-to-close at Cielo on Friday, July 24th, brought to you by the kind folks at Esscala Presents.
