Deep Space Drops Some Big News: NYC’s Iconic Weekly Party Moves to Sunday Nights

Dust off your Sunday dancing shoes and gear up, because one of NYC’s longest running and most legendary weekly parties, Deep Space with François K., will be moving to Sunday evenings at Cielo Club. The needle drops officially on April 10 to coincide with the party’s 13 year anniversary.
For 13 years, Deep Space has been a visionary creative and cultural force for both Cielo Club as well as the NYC club & DJ scene in general, racking up props from the dance community and press alike. In 2013, Complex Magazine’s Do Androids Dance hailed Deep Space as one of “The 10 Best Club Nights in the US.” François K. won “Resident DJ of the Year” by the 2015 Nightclub and Bar Awards and Time Out New York named Deep Space one of the “Top 20 Parties in NYC Right Now” in 2015. Looking ahead to 2016, Francois K will continue to push the limits of Deep Space in a new time slot.

Known for particularly eclectic, spacey and imaginative sets, Cielo Legend-in-Residence DJ François K. has welcomed an all-star roster of global DJs and producers, who each bring their own genre-bending and futuristic, dub-inspired “Deep Space” sets to the mix. Over the years, François K. and Deep Space have played host to some of the most seminal names in dance music past and present including: ÂME, Carl Craig, Derrick May, Dimitri from Paris, Four Tet, Giorgio Moroder, Gilles Peterson, DJ Harvey, Jamie xx, Stacey Pullen and Todd Terje to name but a few.
From an impressive list of seasoned veterans to debut appearances from up-and-coming talent, François K. has shaped Deep Space’s mission to bring a unique and artistic sound to the party’s many fans each week. The new Sunday slot will continue to bring this forward-thinking spirit at a time that is more accessible for working club goers while welcoming a new younger, more curious set of newcomers.
